Aggieland Credit Union
Campus Engagement

Texas A&M and Aggieland Credit Union worked closely to promote two giveaways geared towards faculty, staff and students.

The Tuition Takedown Giveaway was a seven-month campaign that provided students the opportunity to win $5,000 towards tuition. The Parking Prize Giveaway was a three-month campaign that allowed four full-time faculty or staff members to win free Texas A&M parking for a year. Faculty and staff must pay for their own parking permits on campus, and it can range from $300-$800 per year. In each giveaway, the faculty/staff member or student had to open a checking account through Aggieland Credit Union, and every time they used their debit card for a purchase, they gained an entry. Each giveaway had more than 10,000 entries during the campaign.

The total entries per drawing were:
•  Faculty and Staff: 11,963 entries by 179 staff in 2021
•  Students: over 10,000 entries by 114 students in 2020-21

Social Media

During these campaigns, various social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram were utilized to promote the giveaway. Two Aggieland Credit Union landing pages were also created to provide additional details for the giveaways.

At the beginning and end of each program, the Parking Prize Giveaway was mentioned as a reminder for faculty and staff to enter. The two spring webinars in 2021 had more than 65 people register, and the topics were home buying and retirement.

Email Marketing

With the absence of students on campus during COVID, Texas A&M collaborated with Aggieland Credit Union to publish an article in the Texas A&M Today newsletter to highlight ways university partners were supporting Aggieland. Read the article on Texas A&M Today. Emails to faculty and staff were sent on behalf Flourish, encouraging them to enter to win free parking. The email was sent to more than 9,500 faculty and staff members and had over a 37 percent open rate.
